According to scientific studies*, in comparison to sucrose, occasional or regular consumption of maltitol is not associated with severe digestive symptoms.
Diarrhoea could appear only with very high doses of maltitol, much greater than those currently used and recommended in foodstuffs. Using doses of less than 40 g/day of MALTISORB® spread throughout the daytime should lead to almost no symptoms.
